There are millions of things in the world to be grateful for, and counting them will lift your spirits.

For example, in the following year, think of the things that have happened to you.

Listing things will help you feel positive and will remind you of what is going well in your life.

Hang around positive people and people with a positive outlook on life.

They will help you get through even the toughest days of your life.

It is very easy to become depressed if you spend a lot of time alone.

Having positive company will help you remember that you have a bright future ahead of you.

Make sure you take care of yourself and put your needs before those of your children.

If your children are small, they may not understand that you are sad or upset. They may only be concerned about what is going on with you and how it makes them feel.

As they grow up, they will understand that you are upset or sad but will still need to take care of your needs.

Try something new

Change your whole perspective by trying a new activity or hobby.

You never know when that spark will ignite inside of you.

A good example of this can be taking a class in dance, singing, or playing the piano.

Do something that you have never tried before and that your friends are not interested in doing.

Try to have realistic expectations. Expectations are very different from what we actually achieve.

Expect to be hit with hardships when trying to achieve any goal. Expected outcomes are very rarely ideal.

Be realistic and then get to the point where you will accept whatever the situation is.

When you’re feeling a bit down, remember that there is always someone out there who is more miserable than you.

Remind yourself of this fact, and then you’ll feel a little better about yourself.

Remind yourself that there’s plenty of room for improvement and that you’re better than you think you are.

To get your full benefit of the night’s rest, you need at least eight hours.

Try to get as much out of life as you possibly can. Work hard, play hard, have fun and enjoy what you do.

This will improve your mood and make you feel less like being negative. However, sometimes things are not going to go your way and you will just need to deal with that.

Do what you enjoy doing. We all have busy lives and sometimes it is really hard to keep your spirits up.

The best way to boost your mood is to find something that you enjoy doing that you normally do not have time for.

You may be surprised at how much better you feel when you do this.

Beware of people that are always down in the dumps. Some people are negative and always complain.

You can sometimes find yourself getting into a negative cycle. Avoid people like this.

They are only going to make you feel worse.

If you have a real interest in a certain topic, be it a hobby or something more serious, you should surround yourself with like-minded individuals.
